Each chapter is a year. There are 4 seasons. Each season will represent a minor story arc within the comics while the chapter itself will have its own overarching story arc.
The exception is chapter 1 which focuses on setting up the world since the comic took place during the 70s and the game takes place around 2005.
Chapter 2 will be the Phoenix Saga. So the overarching narrative is about Jean Grey becoming the Phoenix however, the seasons will focus on stories such as the Shiar and the Hellfire Club. Don't worry every girl will have plenty of content so don't go into chapter 2 expecting nothing but Jean stuff.

1) the beta version of the game has been (is still being?) tested in september
2) the test was (is?) successful and a few issues have been brought to the attention of the developer
3) said developer is working on the issues and is adding features
4) once the process is done we will probably be able to get our hands on the game, which should span an entire school year (the girls we will focus on are Laura/X-23, Jean Grey and Rogue)

Dev Roadmap: v0.3

The dev team has been carefully considering what parts of our to-do list and what feedback items from the community to prioritize for v0.3, as well as what our projected release timeline should be!
The three focal points of v0.3 will be:
1) Gameplay overhaul, with an emphasis on reducing grind and centering stat gains around unique character interactions. We will be dramatically reducing the number of repetitive actions (eg. studying N times) required to develop your relationship with characters, replacing these repetitive actions with a larger array of optional relationship-building events. Stat gains will be primarily tied to player choices, while actions taken around the mansion are being retooled to serve roleplaying and strategic purposes. We hope that this will provide a more immersive and satisfying gameplay loop!
The other upside to this is: more events, both random and character-specific! The writers are working on more than 30 new character-specific scenes dispersed throughout Chapter I, as well as more than 15 new types of random interactions with mix-and-match combinatorics for reduced repetition.
Never fear, the "punishment" for making "incorrect" choices will not be so heinous as to discourage roleplaying, and alternate mechanics (eg. gifts, dates, sex system) will provide opportunities to "make up" for "missed" points.
2) Sex system overhaul, drawing heavy inspiration from community feedback. We've heard lots of excellent suggestions and have our own ideas on how to turn this critical system into a more rewarding and engaging game of its own. Stay tuned for more updates here.
3) Finally, we've decided that the dynamic arm posing made possible by the standing art overhaul offers so much more storytelling flexibility that it's worth including in the next update. This means that we will be finishing the overhaul of all standing art prior to the release of v0.3. This is not a small undertaking, but we think you will greatly appreciate the final product.
We will be sending out a beta to Patreon members once the majority of 1) and 2) are done to get feedback on gameplay changes before official release.
Given these goals, we've identified early January as the most likely release window for v0.3!

Hello!
It's been a hectic month! We're really excited to show you what we've been up to, so let's dive right into it:
1) Our artists are chugging away at the standing art overhaul. To meet a reasonable release window, we've decided to prioritize "minimum wardrobes": a casual outfit, a superhero outfit, some underwear, and a swimsuit. The minimum wardrobes for Rogue and Jean are finished - left are Laura, Ororo, and Kurt. Never fear, we will be adding many more clothing updates in future (smaller/faster) updates.
2) Our UI designer has redone virtually every interface in the game in response to feedback from the community. It's a much more modern take that pairs really nicely with the refined art style of the sprites, and he's streamlined all of the systems to be more intuitive.
3) We've completely overhauled the sex system - you'll have to wait for more details, but the big pitch is that we've turned it into an (optional) mini-game that yields stat rewards for being a good lover. Your main goal will be to figure out what turns on which Character, something that will depend heavily on how turned on they already are.
4) I've been optimizing a lot and incorporated two large changes to game code that will 1) hopefully remove an entire group of bugs that have been frequently reported and 2) improve performance quite a bit across all systems. As such, we will be releasing a Hi-Res assets pack with 4K backgrounds alongside v0.3.
5) Finally... for the longest time, I thought it was impossible to use a more fluid animating system like Live2D in combination with our highly-customizable sprites. But I've had a big breakthrough that I think solves every problem. That's right - the next big thing coming after v0.3 is a total overhaul of animations using the power of Live2D.
Some logistic items: we're still trying really hard for early January, but the clothing items take time to get right and to make cross-compatible. In addition, because we will be changing such a large chunk of the game - in particular, new events that are only available in a given season - we have decided to untie our hands a bit and not worry about making the game compatible with old saves. Trust us, you're going to want to start a new game anyways.
