Lofland is a 44-year-old mother who has been working at the sheriff's office as a driving instructor, for years. She is active in the porn scene by the stage name Lady Lorreign. She told CBS Colorado that she loved her job and resigning on Tuesday, due to the internal investigation by the department, made her sad. She, however, admitted to likely violating policies by failing to get prior authorization for outside work, which she believes would not have been approved.
She revealed in an interview with CBS Colorado that she has been appearing in scenes for the last one month and had worked for six different sex scenes for several production companies.
In the interview with CBS News, Lofland revealed that her home was destroyed in 2023 in a massive storm, leading to half a million in damages. Her insurance company refused to cover the damage and she had to shell out the cost of repairing by borrowing. She went into debt and collectors started chasing her. She tried cutting spending and borrowed money from her family, but it did not work. Left with no recourse, she turned to pornography.
"My actions have been made out of desperation. ... Some may judge and say there are 'better' ways to make money, but at the time I had no other lucrative means for doing so," Lofland said.
"It was a violation of policy to not request permission to work secondary employment. I know that and I knew that," she said.
